one-minute animations from an experiment in object recognition.

The starting point for this artwork was an art and psychology experiment created by Rachel Cohen and Dr Dyson at Sussex University 2007. A sequence of 20 Chinese whisper drawings were shown in reverse order while the participant tried to guess what the final drawing would represent. The drawings, made with pen and paper were scanned and sequenced. The soundtrack recorded on minidisc during experimental sessions was added later.

Longer versions of Translations were shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London, at Cinecity film festival in Brighton, Wimbledon Space in London 2010 and at Macy Gallery New York, and Nexus Art Cafe Manchester 2011
